when leo was born, his father wasn’t there. his father was off on a business trip, this already was a start of leo’s pattern with abandonment issues.when leo was growing up, his parents forced him to do other activities such as karate or soccer. leo always questioned his identity every since he was around 5. he hated having long hair, being called a “little girl” or having she / her pronouns. it never sat right with him. and so he would do research by the time he was in middle school. he had met his best friends sol and gideon when they were all 5 years old at karate practice. and so while leo was figuring out his identity, sol began to question their’s as did gideon. and so sol came out as non-binary after doing their own research, gideon came out as a demi-boy after their own research, and leo…leo came out as a trans male. he felt secure in that decision and stuck with it. leo was thankful that his father was always on business trips and his mother would go off to country clubs, and so leo had all the time to do this research….as thankful as he was about this, he wished his family was more active in his life.leo’s freshman year of high school was when things started getting rocky. when leo came out to his mother about being transgender, she was supportive enough to help him get clothes he wanted, start on testosterone, even top surgery, which leo was fortunate to have so early. she helped leo feel better about himself…however his father on the other hand wasn’t too pleased. his father expected many things from leo. when it came to grades, competitions, sports. and to hear his “daughter” identified as a male, he was outraged. the further on leo was with testosterone, was when his father would hit him for failing a test, failing a class, or losing one game or competition. it never ended. by leo’s junior to senior year or high school was when leo would cut his own hair. he became more rebellious as he got to this age, sneaking out, getting into fights, stealing his father’s cigarettes or even his father’s car, getting into arguments with his father whenever his father was drunk, which was often whenever he was home. sometimes leo would even do his best to protect his mother and vice-versa. it would be two against one and his father would have a hissy fit and storm out of the house just to get more drunk. leo’s older brother was off at college, the two talked as much as possible. in fact, his brother was one of the first ones to know leo was trans. he was the one who encouraged leo to come out to their mother.he found out however, his mother was abusing drugs. one night, leo heard some noise downstairs…he carefully walked down the stairs, noticing his mother snorting something. when he was caught, she screamed at him, told him to get the fuck out, and so he did. he waited until she was either asleep, or sober enough to where he would come back. whenever his parents would have screaming matches about who was the “worst parent” or the “better parent” leo would put on his headphone to escape reality for a while, practice on his guitar. when teachers would notice leo’s grades slip or how quiet he would be, he would be sent to the councilors office, to which he was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. the only people leo told about this was his close-knit friend group that included sol and gideon. the two that stuck with leo through thick and thin…the two other “delinquents” as the police station would say. but leo felt comfortable with his friend group.

•. leo will sometimes have panic attacks if people sneak up on him. it reminds him of his father sneaking up and ambushing him when it came to beatings and such..• he will have severe nightmares about his father or even his mother after experiencing certain things whether it was his mother’s drug use or his father’s abuse.•. most nights leo cannot get to sleep, he’ll either smoke a joint to help him get to sleep, play his guitar, listen to music or even pick sol up to go for a drive..• sol, gideon and leo are all very close. they’re aware of each other’s traumas and anxieties, as well as boundaries. they were the first ones to come out to each other whether it was about their sexuality or gender identity.•. leo is labeled as the “mom” friend because gideon and sol believe he’s the wisest one of the bunch..• the trio do have a reputation for being delinquents. sometimes cops will make sure they’re staying good, asking if they’re all staying out of trouble. with a couple it’s a joke, with another bunch it’s not. they know about the trio’s struggles in life.•. leo sometimes performs with a band to play his guitar. he does get paid and it’s a decent source of income for leo..• he tries very hard to be understanding with his mother, he knows her struggles, knows about her drug addiction but sometimes he feels she makes it impossible.•. his parents, whenever they’re not home, tend to leave for weeks at a time. it gets to leo sometimes..• leo has been through some pretty rough relationships, whether that be abusive or not having it being the right time, it gives leo some serious abandonment issues.•. whenever leo gets too overwhelmed he’ll disassociate pretty heavily, however it’s not as bad as sol..• leo will listen to music to escape reality for a little while, or sometimes go out and skateboard while listening to music.•. much like sol, leo can also sing. however, he gets nervous to show it despite having excellent vocals. that’s why he sings backup in the band and plays guitar instead of singing lead.
